Spoiler-Free Review:

Clary and the crew are back home in New York after the Mortal War. They’re all trying to cope with the events that went down in the City of Glass. Clary can finally call Jace her boyfriend and she’s training to be a professional shadowhunter, her mother is marrying the love of her life and Shadowhunters and the Downworlders are finally at peace.

But the events that went in Alicante will not be forgotten.

Somebody’s killing shadowhunters which causes tension between shadowhunters and downworlders and a new bloody war against them. Simon’s trying to deal with him being a vampire and it can’t help that his mother just found out that he’s a vampire and now he’s homeless.

Jace is pushing himself away from Clary with no explaination to her at all. Clary realizes that her choices from the past book can take away everything she loves.

This book was not my favorite out of the 6 books in this series but I still enjoyed it and loved it.

This book has mostly Jace and Simon in it which I didn’t mind. Their experiences are very different but they’re just trying to find out one thing; who they are and where they belong.

We also meet new characters like always but they’re not all bad but most of them are.

If you ship #Malec and #Sizzy or even #Clace, you’ll definitely love this book. The feels are real in this book and it’s a lot to take in.

There’s a lot of action and shocking events in this book. If you started reading the first 3 books, you should keep reading on because it gets better.

if you haven’t read any of the books 1-4 , don’t read ahead. (you’ve been warned)

Okay, the book starts with Simon and he explains how he’s dating Maia and Isabelle at the same time but he thinks it’s okay because they haven’t made it “exclusive” yet. I found this whole situation so crazy when I first read it because he actually he really organizes it and events them to the opposite events. Clary found it hilarious though.

Also, Simon and Isabelle are everything in this book especially near the end. You can actually see Izzy falling for him and Simon also when he says him being close to her is the first time he’s actually felt warmth since he’s been turned into a vampire. Literally the cutest thing ever.

We meet a new character that goes by the name of Kyle but later on we find out his name is Jordan and he’s Maia’s ex-boyfriend who turned her into a werewolf. At first, I didn’t like him but once I started hearing his side and how much he loves Maia, I actually started liking him and shipping him with Maia.

Jace and Clary are definitely in love in this book and you can just tell by their actions. Jace’s insecure because of the fact that he was raised by such a horrible man like Valentine and he starts pushing Clary away when he starts having nightmares and those moments really hurt my heart. Like, especially how Jace couldn’t sleep but those events led him to spend more time with Simon which I didn’t mind #brotp

Jace’s trying to find out who is throughout the whole book and you can really tell he’s struggling and that he can’t keep control of his body. (I don’t want to say anything but the ending of this book though was too much; really intense)

The last couple I want to talk about is Magnus and Alec; of course. They really became official in this book and they were travelling over the whole world. Also, in this book Alec finds out that Magnus has been dating many girls and boys before him (obviously he’s been alive since forever). But I actually loved watching Alec jealous of Camille and the way he worried about the future of his relationship Magnus. They were just so cute in this book.
